June 24, 2018, 2 PM: Watercolor Demonstration by Artist Despina Argyros
At a very young age, Despina Argyros began to draw whatever she saw and with the help of her artist grandmother, she developed her artistic skills. She studied art in Greece, and New York, studied with Basil Baylin and received her AAS degree from the Parsons School of Design. Her work includes a variety of subjects, such as still life, landscape and floral, but her favorite is portraits of people and animals. Utilizing mostly oil, watercolor, or pencil, she works from both photos and real life. She has exhibited at Queens College, the Hellenic Cultural Center in Astoria, NY, Flushing Town Hall, Clothesline Art Exhibition at the Guild Hall in East Hampton, and the Jackson Heights Art Club. Despina has been featured in the Art Calendar Magazine (now renamed Professional Artist) and on radio station Cosmos FM 9l.5. She has received numerous awards. Despina can be reached at 917 332-7917 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Her webpage is: despinasartgallery.com/
