The Jackson Heights Art Club has been bringing art to the Queens community for more than 75 years. Since its beginning, the Club has been committed to furthering the knowledge and enjoyment of the visual arts throughout Queens.

JOIN THIS FREE OIL PAINTING DEMONSTRATION TO EXPLORE THE WORLD OF COLOR. WORKING WITHOUT SOLVENTS OR SPIRITS, THE DEMO WILL SHOW HOW TO MIX COLORS WITHOUT USING BLACK AND HOW TO LIGHTEN COLORS WITHOUT LOSING THE RICHNESS, HOW NEIGHBORING COLORS INFLUENCE ONE ANOTHER, AND HOW TO APPROACH A VARIETY OF SHADOW COLORS AND EFFECTS. THROUGH PRACTICAL EXAMPLES, PARTICIPANTS WILL GAIN A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW COLOR FUNCTIONS AS LIGHT, CREATING FORM, DEPTH, ATMOSPHERE, AND LUMINOSITY IN A PAINTING.
